CrossRef currently has relationships with over 5000 publishers, so you can see that publisher participation isn’t yet comprehensive but it is growing quickly. We see about 4/5 new publishers join every month and some of these have quite niche content so that’s great – it makes the database more valuable.

Growth – more members and more usage and a better database – moving towards on submission, but it is a per publisher and per journal approach.Not just STM! Very comprehensive database - can see list of titles on our website. When I started, we were seeing around 20,000 uploads each month, so the growth in the past 2.5 years has been substantial. Just to talk to the July and August figures – some publishers uploaded conference proceedings for large conferences which artificially inflated the figures for those months, so you can see that growth is steady nonethless.
