In terms of voice acting or story, it's completely laughable. Maybe I'm just spoiled by SC2 (which is nearly a DECADE older than this game), but the hotkey system in this game feels rushed and unfinished. You have to constantly select the entire group and re-hotkey the entire army if you want to add more units to it. There also doesn't seem to be a way to add units to an existing control group.

I don't know why they're not always on by default. Playing without health bars does not seem plausible at all to me. Want to keep enemy health bars on? Gotta use a workaround of hotkeying health bars to a key on your number pad and turn off num lock to emulate the key being held down. The building categories have hotkeys, but the buildings themselves do not for some reason, so even if you want to get familiar and quick with building, you're always going to be slowed down by having to mouse-over and click a button to build each building. The game is also severely lacking in hotkeys. It goes from "nothing is happening" to "the world is ending" at the drop of a hat. It feels like it takes 30 minutes just to get out of the early-game slog of a mission, but it can end in the blink of an eye. But if a single zombie makes physical contact with a house, he can infect everyone in the building in about 2 seconds, which spreads like wildfire even if you have attacking units nearby actively trying to kill the zombies. Resource generation is slow, and if you're not actively microing your units, it feels like there isn't much to do other than sit and wait for the train to come by and give you some gold so you can continue building. The game is somehow too fast and too slow at the same time. Imagine playing a match of a MOBA, but your character has no abilities and gains no levels, you just have to auto-attack and kite creeps for 30 minutes.

The hero missions in particular don't seem to add anything meaningful to the game. There's something in this game that makes me want to like it, but there's a lot that's just.
